Curriculum and Criteria for Community Corrections

OVERVIEW:
Our new College of Gender-Responsive Restorative Justice Program is an Academic Degree program for those CURRENTLY Incarcerated that are seeking a career advancement or an entry-level education or those newly released, not seeking a collegiate career but needing  to add the professional certification to the current work that they do for the community they serve.

Specifically designed for the:

1. Alternative High School Student/At-Risk Youth that knows that they have the ability to lead but needs the encouragement. 
2. Senior/Long Term Offenders that are returning to society and wanting their "Second Wind" in life and needing the education.
3. Short Term Returning Citizens seeking a more rewarding career that can help their Tribe and their community.
4. Outpatient Recovering Addicts in-between careers or currently unemployed that need and want the support to challenge the field of Gender and Human Rights to educate and instruct the community they serve.

This is a one calendar-year (52 week) program (with sessions January to December and then June to May annually) that couples the lectures and lessons in Gender and Human Rights, three (3) virtual Fellowship program, a six-week internship and a final Cumulative Research Paper that will be due at the end of the course.

This solution-based curriculum is focused in the mission of Social Work, Social and Human Service and Community and Public Health curriculums. As an Internationally registered program, with the mission of supporting  compliance with local Continuing Education Units (CEU) and the protocols for Internships and Externship requirements in Gender and Human Rights.

Class times

Session 1
 - January to December (FULL registration by October of prior year)
Session 2 - May to June (FULL registration by April of current year)

Investment:
Current market rate for this one-year, offering is USD$7,500.00 per Student, via invoice. ($7,000 for the course and $500 for Graduation Fees). Payment plans are offered with a USD $1,500 deposit and eight (8) monthly payments of USD$750.00 (no-interest financing; payments through Square, CashApp and PayPal). This is also an Investment-based Program. Investments come from Corporate donations and will be applied to the Student's account  for books and fees.

Prerequisites:
Designed to give credit for Life/Work Experience, in Humanities, Theology, Human Service Work and unlicensed Social/Case Work or retired LCSW, this program was designed to validate the lineage of your work to date. You must have a verifiable Forensic CV of your work, education and benevolence/service work. This can come as formal education (Minimum High School Diploma/GED), verifiable Life/Work  experience (up 5 years or more) or a combination of both, to be set for review by our formal Professional Educational Board.

​Application process:
Each and every applicant must adhere to these procedures or will have their emailed application deleted. We only take the first ten (10) applicants that successfully register and are accepted for each session.

To apply you MUST:

1. Obtain: Two (2) letters of Reference/Referral** from (either/or) an Educational, Professional or Theological reference, that can verify the prerequisites in the respective areas and can validate both your character and work ethic. The letter MUST be on official letterhead and must have a legal (digital or hand-ink) signature affixed the letter (with seal, if applicable). No 'cursive' fonts will be accepted  for signatures. All letters will be vetted and verified for validity and consistency.

**The letter Referral/Reference must answer the following questions/statements:
  1. How long and in what capacity the reference knows you.
  2. The SPECIFIC work/ duties you did for them and an explanation of the work completed (NOTE: you CANNOT use any Probation, Parole, Community Confinement or Community Service Hours from a Youth Offender, Adult Detention or an Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program).
  3. The outcome or instruction gained from the program/goals/work done.
  4. Their perspective on your work ethic, personal accountability, teamwork and course compatibility. 

2. Construct: A full, one-page personal statement that speaks to:
  1. The reason you want to take the Program.
  2. What your career-field is (currently) and a few relevant accomplishments or what you want to do with the program upon completion?
  3. What you expect to get out of the program?
  4. Why this program will help you attain this goal in life?

3. Attach these documents to ONE email: (HarborHeritageUniversity@gmail.com ) Have your counselor send the email.
  1. The two (2) Professional letters of reference/referral
  2. The full, one-page Personal Statement
  3. Copy of the ID page of your passport or a photo of your State/local ID
  4. Your updated professional résumé or academic CV (You are welcome to get recent transcripts of your education if this applies)

Doctor of Professional Studies (DPS) PhD Program

HHU Accelerated Program (AP)
We offer a discounted, four-year Accelerated Program (you go from AA-PhD in four years). This is for those with a career in gender and Human Rights and focused on the role of leader in this field. Investment for this program is USD$20,000.00 (USD$5,000 per year, per student) which is  USD$19,500.00 for the course work and USD$500.00 in Graduation Fees - this excludes fees for the Cap/Tam and Gown/Robe. Payment Plans offered. Under this Accelerated Program, class will begin annually, in May and will commence in June with the next course offering beginning in June. Students are welcome to finish and Graduate at the end of any program (AA, BA, MA and PhD/DPS program), but if they do not finish the intended four-year program, they will assume full market rate for the  course they just completed, due prior to graduation. (This understanding will be signed and notarized as to the comprehension and acceptance of these terms).
